Man O’War Rocks | Dorset

Man O

Man O’War Cove

Last weekend, my wife Sally and I joined around thirty other photographers for a photo walk in Dorset, which was organised on Google+. We met up with some friends from previous photo walks, made some new friends and generally had a blast. This photo was taken on the afternoon before the official photo walk, when we arrived in West Lulworth and took a short drive to Durdle Door. Man O’War Cove is the next cove to the east of Durdle Door and these limestone rocks, just off the shore, were taking a battering from the waves.

Killiney Hill

Killiney Hill obelisk near Dublin Ireland

Killiney Hill Obelisk

Killiney Hill is at the southern end of Dublin Bay in a public park, unsurprisingly called Killiney Hill Park. It is 153m high and ovelooks the villages of Dalkey, to the north, and Killiney to the south. This obelisk has stood at the top of Killiney Hill since 1742.

This is a 4 minute long exposure, taken late in the afternoon for the low angled light.

8 Minutes in Toronto | Long Exposure of the Toronto Skyline

Toronto skyline long exposure black and white from Toronto Island

Toronto Skyline from Toronto Island.

A short ferry trip across Lake Ontario, from the port in downtown, Toronto Island provides this iconic view of the Toronto skyline, dominated by the CN Tower. Obviously, I spent more than 8 minutes in Toronto. Actually, it was 8 days, but 8 minutes was the exposure for this photo taken from near the ferry dock on Toronto Island.

Hi Ian,

Great shot of the Toronto Skyline. Is it available on any stock image website? It would be great on our Toronto based company website.

Thanks,
Andrew Mark

La Push Sunset

sunset on 2nd beach at la push in washington state usa

This is Second Beach, the longest of three beaches at La Push in Washington State, USA. The beach is reached via a short forest trail of less than a mile from the roadside car park, just outside the small town of La Push. La Push itself is the largest community in the Quileute Indian Reservation and is home to the westernmost zip code of the United States mainland. It is also the home of the mythical werewolf pack in the Twilight novels by Stephanie Meyer. This was not used as a location in the movies though – La Push scenes were actually filmed down the coast in Oregon at Ecola State Park.
