The beach at the Catalonia resort at Bavaro in the Dominican Republic is quite manicured. Hotel workers rake the sea weed up from the shoreline and smooth out the sand every day. There are also the obvious sunbeds, sun shades and lots of people. Just a five minute walk along the beach takes you away from all this. The sign on the right hand side of this photo warns you that you are leaving the hotel property and should take extra care. Walking along here as the sun was setting on the other side of the island, I was alone with the sea, the sand, the wind blown palm trees and those clouds.
