Seattle is often associated with coffee as it is home to the first Starbucks store, just around the corner from here. This neon coffee cup sign, which is outside a different cafe, has become quite an iconic symbol of Seattle and most visitors take some sort of photo of it. We spent four days in this great city and passed by here several times, but on this occasion we were treated to a pretty spectacular sunset sky and I just had to catch a few shots.
A cropped version of this photo has been used on the CD Coffee Land by the virtuoso concert flutist, Laurel Zucker. Coffee Land was released on 25th July 2013 and can be found on Amazon, iTunes and other good music sites.

I’ve seen this coffee cup many times while visiting my brother in Gig Harbor (south of Seattle). Never there when it was placed against such a fabulous backdrop. It’s a beautiful image that not many would see. Nicely done.
Hey Joe, thanks very much. I’ve recently heard that the cafe has changed hands and the sign is no longer there, so I’m glad I got the shot when I did. We certainly hope to visit Seattle again sometime.
